Celebrating Excellence at The Academy Graduation and Richard Livingston Awards 2024

March 2024

Last week we were delighted to host our first ever Academy Graduation Ceremony alongside the Richard Livingston Annual Award. The event was held in Titanic Hotel, Belfast celebrating our employees successes, hard work, dedication and marking excellence in Professional Development across the Group.

Hosted by Trevor Shaw, Group CEO and Wendy Close People Director, guests included Academy mentors, Better Together Programme members and Graduates, applicants and nominees for the Richard Livingston Award along with those who nominated a colleague.

The Academy Programme has been designed to encourage and support staff to undertake professional qualifications relevant to their role and to assist in the achievement of their educational and personal development goals. We were delighted to have 21 staff from across the Group who Graduated from our Academy Programme, having successfully completed their chosen qualification (including the Cert CII, the Certificate in Insurance Product Service (APA), ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level and the Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis) as part of Class of 2022 or 2023.

Now in its third year, The Richard Livingston Award followed the Graduation ceremony with a total of 10 applicants having been shortlisted for this prestigious award.

We are delighted to announce the winner of the Richard Livingston 2024 winner as Kieran Wilson!

Kieran is Project Co-Ordinator within the Claims Department at Prestige Underwriting. Kieran was presented with his award by Trevor Shaw. The judging panel noted Kieran was a very worthy winner, having completed his  Master's Degree (MSc) in Software Development (Conversion Course) at Queen's University with Distinction and also having completed his Cert CII and as he has demonstrated the use of his MSc to not only improve his knowledge and his own team’s ways of working, but to improve how his team works with the broader business. They found him to have an enthusiastic outlook, always looking for solutions and ways to help his colleagues and improve processes, making him a role model across the Group.

Congratulations once again to Kieran on this fantastic achievement and well done to our Academy Graduates and  the shortlisted applicants for the Richard Livingston Award.

We look forward to celebrating more success in coming months across the Group.
