Commitment to Staff Health and Wellbeing

July 2021

At Prestige Insurance Holdings, investment in the health and wellbeing of our staff is our key priority.  We firmly believe that wellbeing is a holistic concept, it’s about taking care of your total self – physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally.

In order to formalise the Health and Wellbeing structure within our Group, we are delighted to have created a Health and Wellbeing Committee and Champions Network. Established in early 2021, the Health and Wellbeing Committee and Champions Network have been committed to creating and developing the Health and Wellbeing strategy and plan.

Research has shown that investment in Health and Wellbeing can have many benefits for staff including improving physical and mental wellbeing, increase in health awareness and opportunities for a healthier lifestyle, improved morale, job satisfaction and motivation. It gives everyone a greater capacity to enjoy life both in and outside of work and makes the company a great place to work. This has proven even more important as organisationally and individually we have had to adapt our working and home environment in response to the pandemic, with everyone having been affected by the COVID restrictions and measures.

The aim of the committee is underpinned by 5 core objectives-

  • To connect
  • Be active
  • Take notice
  • Keep learning
  • Give

The Health and Wellbeing Committee is comprised of Managing Directors from our Broking, Underwriting and Insurtech businesses across the Group as well as other members of our Executive Management team. The Committee is responsible for setting up and over-seeing the Health and Wellbeing Strategy, establishing the aims and objectives of the Strategy, prioritising key areas of focus and agreeing programme budgets.

The roll out of this established strategy and purpose to support and improve the health and wellbeing of our employees is championed by the Health and Wellbeing Champions Network. The Health and Wellbeing Champions are volunteers from various businesses within the Group and meet up once a month to generate ideas, implement and promote Health and Wellbeing plans and initiatives.

The initiatives delivered to date have all been warmly received by colleagues in all businesses across the Group and have provided a welcome opportunity to engage with one another in both the virtual setting and socially distanced settings. We look forward to enjoying many more as we strive to achieve the above core objectives of Health and Wellbeing for all.
