Prestige Insurance Holdings Ltd is inviting independent insurance brokers across Northern Ireland, Ireland and GB to explore opportunities to join the growing business, with options ranging from full acquisitions to phased transitions by way of partial investment. This new investment programme launches a succession route for independent brokers as well as providing backing to ambitious brokers with new growth.
As costs and regulation rise, the Northern Ireland-based insurance business wants to keeping local broking local by providing real options for independent brokers to work in partnership together. The business is inviting interest from owners of brokers who may be considering succession or retirement or have ambitions to progress the business and are seeking access to wider insurer markets, resources, and support.
Prestige Insurance Holdings has an established track record of working with independent brokers, having acquired businesses including Find Insurance, BMG Insurance, Martin Carey Insurance, Down Insurances and Wallace Insurance Brokers in recent years. The acquisitions have brought established local businesses and their customer relationships into the Prestige Insurance Holdings group of companies, while providing continuity for customers and access to the wider resources and insurer relationships of the business.
Prestige Insurance Holdings recognise that independent brokerages are built on long-standing client relationships, strong local reputations, and dedicated teams, and that decisions about their future involve much more than financial value.
Julie Gibbons, Managing Director of Broking, said: “We know that independent brokers have built their businesses over many years and that their clients and teams are hugely important to them.
“We want to work with brokers who share our values and people centred culture and are looking for the right next step for their business. That might be someone thinking about retirement or succession, or an owner who wants to reduce some of the regulatory and compliance pressures while giving their business access to greater resources and insurer relationships.
“Every business is different, so we don’t believe in taking a one-size-fits-all approach. We are open to having conversations about what might work best for the individual broker and their circumstances. Continuing to trade under an existing heritage brand managed by existing owner/managers supported by our investment is absolutely an option.”
Maintaining continuity for clients and recognising the contribution of employees will be at the core of any partnership or acquisition.
The business has a local management team who will work in support of partner brokers whilst offering access to its scale, insurer relationships and wider support, retaining a focus on personal service and local knowledge.
Julie added: “For us, this is about more than acquiring a book of business. We want to understand what the owner has built and what matters to them and find a way of moving forward that works for everyone involved.
“We are very happy to have an initial conversation with any independent broker who is considering their options, even if they are only at the early stages of thinking about the future. There is no obligation, and conversations will be treated in complete confidence.”
